Workamping Opportunities at Turtle Rock RV Resort
Workampers are an integral part of Turtle Rock Resort. For those who
don’t know, workampers are wonderful folks who stay in their RVs at
Turtle Rock and commit to work at the resort for a six month period in
exchange for a free full hookup site with TV and wifi.
At Turtle Rock we try very hard to create a cooperative, respectful,
enjoyable work environment with communication being a top priority.
Happy workampers who enjoy their job help to create happy guests who
will return again and again to stay with us.
Having a good time with our groups of workampers is important. We try to
have as much fun as possible and still run our business. We have
potlucks for most holidays and at other times during the year, any
excuse is good! Workampers are encouraged to organize fun activities
which usually take place in our new group room - card games, dances,
frequent gettogethers around evening campfires, basket making, and free
yoga classes thrice weekly. Taking long walks on miles of beaches with
your new workamper friends are a common occurance, as is staying in
touch with each other long after the Turtle Rock experience has ended.
Many visit each other while traveling. It’s a unique group of good
friends.
Jobs are varied. Workampers do everything from office work to outside
maintenance and have a chance to interact with our many cottage and RV
guests. Workampers need to be physically and mentally agile. Although
most outside work is not physically challenging workampers need to be
able to bend, walk, (golf carts are provided for outside work) and have
a good range of motion. The office has a computerized reservation system
and sharp minds need to be able to remember the variations in
reservations from cottages to RV sites with differing sizes, views, and
prices. It can be a fast paced and fun environment especially during the
summer season.
We use workampers year round with summer workamper arrivals beginning in
April or May and off season beginning in September or October. The
hourly work trade for the RV site is 20 hours per week.
If workkamping at Turtle Rock Resort in sunny Gold Beach, Southern
Oregon sounds like an interesting experience for you, please do
email your resume. We’ll be in touch!
Enthusiastically,
Julian and Kachina Starr
